We’re off to Japan again! This year’s trip, my first in autumn, promises to be the most fun yet.
Thanks to my wife, our friends and family, my teacher, and the marvel that is Netflix, my language skills have definitely improved since last summer. However, food remains my first gateway to Japanese culture. That’s why I can’t wait to try new dishes and find more inspiration for my cooking at home.
During this year’s visit, I’m excited to meet a new family member, congratulate another on a big milestone, and see the country in a new season. Over the next two weeks, we will be splitting our time between Tokyo, Hyogo and Mie prefectures, so expect lots of photos of autumn scenes at some point on my return. I’ve never been to (coastal, forested) Mie Prefecture before, let alone in autumn, but I’m promised that the area we’re visiting is quite beautiful.
Now we’ve packed up our omiyage (about a suitcase full), we’re ready to fly. So until we touch down in Tokyo, またね !
