I am one half of a London-based British-Japanese marriage: the half which didn’t grow up eating tofu, umeboshi or miso soup.
Since my first visit to Japan, I’ve come to love all kinds of typical Japanese foods and flavours. At first, discovering this interest allowed me to connect to the culture despite my limited language skills. Inevitably – and with more than a little help – I’ve ended up incorporating some Japanese food into my own home cooking repertoire.
This blog aims to be a record of that trial-and-error process and a resource for other people in the UK who wish to explore Japanese cooking.
